INTO Manchester and The University of Manchester

INTO Manchester, the new International Student Centre created by INTO and City College Manchester, has partnered with The University of Manchester to offer an International Foundation programme which prepares students for entry onto its undergraduate degree course.

The University of Manchester is the UK's most popular university, with a distinguished history of academic achievement and ambitious plans for the future. The University has risen in the influential Shanghai Jiao-Tong University world rankings to its position in 2007 of 5th in the UK, 9th in Europe and 48th in the world¹. With more international students than any other UK university, it is the preferred choice for a high quality, rewarding education.

The International Foundation programme, designed by NCUK², is aimed at outstanding students who have the potential and talent to succeed in an atmosphere of challenge and excellence. In order to achieve the required progression grades for The University of Manchester, students will have completed at least 12 years of schooling. They must start from a very strong academic base and maintain high standards throughout the programme. Successful students continue onto honours degree programmes in the Faculty of Humanities or the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences.

The Foundation programme lasts either three or two terms and starts in September and January each year. For the September start (three term programme), there are two pathways to choose from: Humanities, Law, Business, Management, Accounting and Economics; and Engineering, Physical Sciences, Mathematics and Computing. For the January start (two term programme), only the pathway in Humanities, Law, Business, Management, Accounting and Economics is available.
