University Validation Control Standards
The academic programmes are validated by The University of Manchester and are subject to rigorous quality assurance procedures. Each academic programme is subject to an agreed School assessment marking strategy, supported by formal assessment procedures. The security of assessment and academic standards is further supported through the external examiners appointed for each programme. Their responsibilities include access to draft papers, course work and examination scripts. Attendance at the Board of Examiners and the provision of an annual report are both required.
INTO’s review and evaluation system allows for staff and student feedback on all aspects of a course. Course reviews are a standard requirement and are summarised and passed to termly Centre staff meetings. Teaching observations are carried out regularly. Criteria laid down by British Council standard accreditation procedures for resources, learning and teaching are applied as part of the Centre’s academic management of EFL and EAP programmes.
