 Donald Saltire

At Glasgow Caledonian University we are proud to have one of the most modern and student-focused campuses in the UK. Our state-of-the-art facilities and support networks provide you with an excellent learning environment and help ensure that you have an enjoyable and memorable experience.

The Saltire Centre
This is the University’s learning centre and caters for all the support and study needs students may have throughout their time here. The Saltire Centre blends traditional library space with group and private study areas and social zones. All areas are wireless enabled and laptops are available on loan. On the ground floor, ‘The Base’ houses all student support departments, from registration and student records, through to counselling, welfare and the careers service. There is also a café where you can relax and meet up with friends.

The International Student Support Service
The dedicated International Student Support Service (ISSS) is available to provide help and advice to our students from abroad on a wide variety of issues. The ISSS also arranges a welcome programme and a year-round calendar of social events.

Sport and recreation
Arc, the University’s sport and recreation centre, offers access to the latest fitness equipment and sports facilities. You can participate in a range of activities, from relaxation therapies such as yoga and tai-chi, to more energetic classes such as kick-boxing and aerobics. Sports clubs including football, basketball and badminton meet here.

Students’ Association
The Students’ Association (or Union) is your place to relax and become involved in the University community. There are a number of clubs and societies to join including the International Student Society.

Catering facilities
The University’s refectory offers a wide variety of good food at reasonable prices. There are also cafés around the University, which enable you to catch up with friends in informal surroundings.
