City of Norwich

University of East Anglia is situated alongside the picturesque city of Norwich in the heart of East Anglia’s most beautiful countryside. Norwich city centre is just 4 km from the University campus and frequent buses run from the campus to the city centre.

Norwich is an historic city with many original medieval buildings, the most magnificent being the 11th century cathedral and the Norman castle, which overlooks the city.

A major city with a busy, cosmopolitan atmosphere, Norwich is famed for its variety of cultural entertainment including cinemas, theatres and a number of fascinating museums and art galleries.

The city is home to a large student population made up from many schools and colleges and has a young outlook and an affordable cost of living. The University’s international student community is widely recognised as contributing to the city and there are several established links such as the Norwich International Club, which enables students to meet local people in an informal setting.

Norwich has plenty of street cafés and international restaurants, offering a wide choice of food, from Indian, Chinese, vegetarian, Greek and Thai to Mexican, Spanish, Italian and English.

At night, there are venues to suit all tastes, from traditional English pubs to modern bars and clubs.
