Overview

The INTO University of East Anglia centre, opening in the autumn of 2008, will be a sociable, innovative and inspiring addition to the University of East Anglia campus. The centre will provide for international students studying on pre-university courses and for those undertaking English language training. Students will be offered university-style teaching: a mixture of lectures, seminars, tutorials and supported e-learning in an environment dedicated to the welfare of its students.

The 1.3 acre (5300m²) super centre, located next to a new square, will comprise worldclass teaching and accommodation facilities, sufficient for 500 teaching spaces and 407 student bed spaces. The state-of-the-art building has been designed to complement Sir Denys Lasdun’s award-winning design of University of East Anglia core buildings, famous for its series of classrooms and laboratories connected by walkways and glazed residential quarters in the shape of stepped-pyramid ‘ziggurats’. The sustainable building will be an exciting and safe environment where students can live, study and relax in a truly international atmosphere.
