The campus
The Streatham campus of the University is regarded as one of the most beautiful in the UK, built on a country estate and overlooking the city centre which is close by. The campus has been described by The Independent as having a ‘sublime’ setting.Beyond its natural beauty, it offers a safe and enjoyable environment for study. The teaching buildings, the library, postgraduate centre, sports halls and restaurant facilities are all conveniently situated within walking distance of each other.
Everything that students need is available on campus, including a supermarket, book shop, bank, printing unit, launderette, over ten different cafés and restaurants and a job shop.
The Main University Library is at the centre of the Campus and holds 1,200,000 volumes, over 3,000 print journals and has online access thousands of sources. Students will be shown how to use the library during orientation. There are substantial computer resources available to students who also receive their own e-mail address; most study bedrooms have a phone and high speed internet link.
Theatre, music and art are an important part of campus life at Exeter. The University’s Great Hall is a major venue for pop and classical concerts and the Northcott Theatre is on campus. The University has invested £8 million in sport since 1999 and now boasts facilities which are among the best in the UK.
