The campus
The University, known for its striking architecture, is situated on a beautiful 320-acre campus of open parkland by a picturesque lake.
The campus is a home away from home for new students – everything they need is on hand: convenience store and newsagent, post office, travel shop and ticket agency, bookshop, print room, photocopying service, advice centre, snack-bar, launderette, six cafés and a restaurant. The campus has an excellent live-music venue, a theatre and the Sainsbury Centre for the Visual Arts. It also has the largest single sports complex of any UK university.
The library is situated in the heart of the campus. It is open every day in term-time, has 1, 200 study places, 260 PCs, 800,000 titles and offers its own training sessions. There is also a specialist IT library with tutorial guides and helpdesks and there is a campus-wide high-speed data network.
