Students’ Union

At the centre of the University is the Union Society Building, the social hub and main focal point for students at Newcastle.
It is a great place for students to take a break from their studies, get involved in activities and meet new people. After recent renovations, the Union now has six bars and a diverse selection of food outlets, including the vegetarian MLK café and the new Rijo’s Juice Bar. Students can enjoy quiz nights, comedy events, popular club nights and gigs by big names, as well as up-and-coming artists.

As well as being the social hub of the University, the Union also provides a number of key services. There is an excellent Student Advice Centre and the Job Shop, which helps students find part-time work. The Union shop stocks a wide range of stationery, snacks, drinks and newspapers, along with a great selection of practical household items. The Union Building also has a post office, print shop and travel agent. From Monday to Friday evenings, the Union runs a free student safety bus to take students from the University campus direct to their door.
