Part 2
Studying academic modules in specialist subject areas at Newcastle University alongside other UK, European and international students. For students who start Part 1 in January, April, June or August, the period of academic study (Part 2) can be for one semester (September –January) or two semesters (September – June). Students who start the course in September will only be able to enrol on University modules in Semester 2 (January – June).

A maximum of 40 academic module credits can be taken. The number of hours of study is dependent on the modules selected. Students can choose modules from a wide range of academic subjects at undergraduate level at Newcastle University including humanities, languages, psychology, politics, education, computing, social sciences, business, science, engineering and many more. In some cases, Study Abroad students may also be able to study postgraduate modules.

Students are advised by their tutor when choosing academic modules. Selection of modules may depend on what students have studied previously, their academic and English language levels, and the availability of places. Each academic module usually requires at least two hours’ contact time per week along with extensive reading, independent research and preparation. In addition to academic modules, students will also continue to benefit from additional in-sessional English language classes.

I’m really happy being a student at Newcastle University. There are many international students and so you can make new friends and learn about new cultures. The University has lots of facilities for studies – computing classes, a huge library resource, as well as facilities where you can improve your English. So if you choose this University I’m sure you will never regret it!
