INTO Pre-Master’s English

The Pre-Master’s English is a full-time, intensive course in academic English and study skills designed for academically qualified international students preparing to enter postgraduate study in the UK.

The course incorporates English language skill development, academic study skills and specific postgraduate research skills – all that is needed for successful university study. Students will also be given the opportunity to gain practical experience of university teaching and study methods through the postgraduate research skills module and some attendance at university lectures. All of these elements will help students adjust to the demands, challenges and expectations of UK higher education.

Students can enrol on the Pre-Master’s English course in September, January or April. With multiple entry points and different durations of study, the course has the flexibility to cater for students at different language levels. At the end of each term, all students are tested in reading, writing, listening and speaking, to give a clear indication of progress.
