Recommended study plan and progression route
Students who meet the programme’s academic entry requirements but who have an IELTS score of less than 6.0 (with 5.5 in writing) can undertake English language preparation at the INTO Newcastle Centre before starting the Diploma programme. Examples of these combined programmes are set out in the table.

Diploma pathway in Business

Business pathway (120 credits)
Upon successful completion of the INTO Diploma pathway in Business (and subject to meeting specified grades for entry) students can join the second year of a select number of undergraduate degree programmes offered by the Business School at Newcastle University.

All students will study a combination of modules with a total value of 120 credits. Students will be guided and advised, during the Induction and Registration period, in terms of which modules to study. This will depend on the student’s English language level, the subject area and the undergraduate degree programme the student wishes to study. Programme Managers will need to approve all combinations of modules depending on the student’s previous academic record, English language level and future study plan.

I chose to live in homestay accommodation as it allowed me to experience British culture, which i had learned about in Japan.  My host mother cooks a range of superb traditional meals, which gives me a real taste of home life.  We eat dinner together every night and after meals we sit around in the living room and talk about what we did during the day.
