Progression criteria for NCUK partner universities
The Foundation programme content and quality control is provided in collaboration with NCUK, one of the world’s leading foundation providers, through whom more than 13,000 students have taken up places at British universities in the last twenty years. Students on the INTO Manchester Foundation programme enjoy all the benefits of being on an NCUK programme, including the guarantee of a university place in their chosen field of study at an NCUK partner university. Because of this unique partnership, students from INTO Manchester have the security of knowing that the programme is also accepted for entry by many leading universities in the UK and Ireland, including Bradford; Bristol; Dublin City University; Huddersfield; Kent; Kingston; Leeds; Leeds Metropolitan; Limerick; Liverpool; Liverpool JMU; Manchester; Manchester Metropolitan; National University of Ireland; Portsmouth; Queen Mary London; Queen’s University Belfast; Salford; Sheffield; Sheffield Hallam; Sussex; Ulster; University College Cork. With hundreds of degrees to choose from across the whole range of NCUK partner and associate universities it’s not possible to tabulate the whole range in a single brochure. Generally degrees with a strong linguistic or discursive element will require high scores in the NCUK EAP test or a high IELTS equivalent, while degrees in science or engineering will obviously require strong mathematics and sciences. To be sure of the qualifications and subjects you need, it is best to check the typical offer entry requirements published in a university’s undergraduate prospectus or on the UCAS website.
For most undergraduate courses typical offer entry requirements are now expressed in UCAS points. (Please visit the UCAS website at www.ucas.com to download a copy of the UCAS Tariff). Although the IFY points scores which we publish do not equate to UCAS points, they are closely comparable and will give a very good indication of the foundation grades required for entry to the degrees that are of interest.
However some offers will not be made on a points score alone, but will require a particular grade profile with grades in designated subjects (for example Mathematics) and a minimum acceptable score for each module - irrespective of the points average.
