Academic programmes
International Foundation programme in partnership with The University of ManchesterThe INTO Manchester International Foundation programme prepares students for entry onto degree courses within the Faculty of Humanities and the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences at The University of Manchester. Depending on students’ academic and English levels at entry, this INTO Manchester programme is either three terms in length (starting each September) or a fast-track two terms (starting in January of each year). The programme is also accepted by leading universities in the UK and Ireland. For further information please go to International Foundation programme
Art and Design Foundation
This one-year course prepares students for entry to higher, more specialised courses in art, design and related subjects and is the nationally recognised route to such courses. An accreditation agreement with both Manchester Metropolitan University and the University of Salford means that students with appropriate grades can progress onto related degree courses within those universities without the need for interview or application through UCAS.
Students who wish to study at other universities will work together with their tutor through the UCAS application system. Assessment and evaluation are conducted with students’ participation and with emphasis on continual feedback, which ensures a high level of communication between students and tutors and the developments of a strong portfolio of artwork for entry to higherlevel courses. Manchester is an excellent centre for the study of art with galleries, museums and regular exhibitions of student work in and around the city. NCUK Pre-Master’s Programme (PMP)
Designed by NCUK, this programme benefits from wide recognition across the UK. It also offers international students, who do not qualify for direct entry to university, a pathway into postgraduate studies at a British university. The complete PMP comprises three terms and there are three possible routes of study:
Each route leads into universities’ September intake for postgraduate studies. The PMP is a first step towards obtaining a postgraduate qualification. Students choose one of these routes depending upon their qualifications, English language level and work experience. The programme has a strong academic focus on Business and Management. The content consists of around 50% EAP (English for Academic Purposes) and the remaining 50% of Research Methodology, and Management. The research module covers critical thinking, presentation techniques and discussion practice. Students will also receive guidance on assignment writing and dissertation planning as September and January entrants will research and write a short, 5,000 word dissertation. April entrants will produce a project proposal of around 1,000 words. For further information please go to NCUK Pre-Master's Programme
