Computing
The University recognises that access to IT facilities as a means of keeping in touch with home is a top priority for international students. All students have their own email address and most study bedrooms have a phone and high speed internet link. IT facilities are managed by the University’s Information Services and include:
- computer clusters across campus with access to the Internet and email along with word-processing, database, graphics and statistics applications;
- 24/7 access to a number of central computer clusters;
- a variety of IT training courses throughout the year;
- a helpdesk service located in the University library or accessed by phone or email to help with any problems students have in using the facilities;
- an extensive suite of online resources;
- a purchase scheme offering a discount on laptops and licensed software.
