Working in the UK
There are many opportunities for international students to earn extra money whilst they are in the UK; both during their studies and post-graduation. Working part-time during your studies can be a useful way to develop your work skills and enhance your CV. Special rules for international students make it possible to work up to 20 hours per week during term time and full time during the holidays. To find a job, start with the employment advice service or 'Job Shop' at your University, which will have information on current vacancies and about what sort of work is usually available in the area.
International Graduate Scheme
The International Graduates Scheme (IGS) enables international students, who have graduated from a recognised higher education institution within the United Kingdom to remain in the country for one year after graduation and gain valuable work experience. Less restrictive than earlier student immigration routes, the International Graduates Scheme allows a student of any discipline to apply. For further information please visit the Home Office website
