To offer international students the opportunity to study at a UK university in order to improve their English and to study academic subjects at university level;
to provide a highly flexible, personalised course that meets the needs of students who wish to spend a year abroad as part of their university studies and to offer them practical experience of UK university teaching and study methods;
to enable students to experience the demands, challenges and expectations of specialist academic study within the UK higher education system and culture.

Course outcomes

Progression onto further study on an academic programme at INTO University of Exeter (e.g. Foundation, Diploma or Graduate Diploma) assuming students meet the entry requirements;
further study of English on one of the INTO University of Exeter’s English courses;
progression onto further study at the University of Exeter or other UK universities or colleges providing students meet the entry requirements;
achievement of academic credit towards their undergraduate degree programme in their home country (subject to home university approval);
improvement in career prospects by achieving the level of English proficiency required for modern international communication and employment;
personal development through the opportunity to live and study abroad and to improve their standard of English.
